LILY AI Guardian

Meet LILY

Your child's digital guardian on Narrato — keeping creativity safe and positive.

Welcome to the Heart of Narrato's Safety System

We know that letting your child explore creativity online requires trust — and Narrato was built to earn it. LILY (short for Live Intelligent Layer for Youth) is our custom-built, child-focused safety system. She doesn't just monitor — she protects.

Designed from the ground up specifically for Narrato, LILY combines a thoughtful blend of automation and human oversight to create the safest possible environment for kids and preteens to write, draw, share stories, and connect.

Why LILY?

We chose the name LILY not just because it sounds friendly — but because it symbolizes growth, safety, and innocence. It's also an acronym that reflects our mission:

L.I.L.Y.

  • Live
  • Intelligent
  • Layer for
  • Youth

LILY is a guardian, not a gatekeeper. She works silently in the background, always on, always learning — but never invasive.

What LILY Does (And Doesn't Do)

What LILY does:

  • Scans all user-generated content — stories, drawings, comments — before it's ever published.

  • Uses a custom-built, privacy-safe AI system that does not rely on third-party models.

  • Flags potentially inappropriate or unsafe content (such as explicit language, suggestive drawings, or unsafe topics).

  • Holds suspicious content for manual review by trusted human moderators.

  • Detects patterns of behavior that may indicate grooming, bullying, or unsafe interactions.

  • Monitors messaging features (if enabled) using short delays and auto-flagging to prevent inappropriate exchanges.

What LILY doesn't do:

  • Doesn't share or sell your child's data.

  • Doesn't analyze identity or faces.

  • Doesn't "spy" on users or give parents full access to private content unless flagged.

  • Doesn't rely on big tech AI (we don't use OpenAI, Google, Meta, or similar to process your child's content).

Note: This is a simplified demonstration. The actual LILY system uses more sophisticated analysis techniques.

Built with Children's Privacy in Mind

LILY was designed to be safe by default. That means:

  • Children under 13 can draw and write, but cannot upload personal images.

  • Private messages are delayed by a few seconds and run through LILY's real-time moderation filter before delivery.

  • Users cannot search for others by username — instead, they must enter a specific friend code.

  • Parents never have full visibility into everything, unless content has been flagged — balancing privacy and protection.

  • Schools and group spaces can enable messaging within closed networks (like a class), with teacher or parent approval.

What Happens When Content is Flagged?

When LILY finds something concerning:

  • It is automatically blocked from publication.

  • It's flagged for manual moderation by Narrato's safety team.

  • If necessary, an email notification is sent to a parent or verified adult contact.

  • If the flagged content is in a group chat, moderators or educators associated with the group are notified.

  • Repeated or serious violations can result in temporary or permanent bans.

Transparency Promise

We are 100% transparent with how LILY works. She is:

  • Built by us, for us — not trained on your child's content.

  • Not connected to outside data sources or models.

  • Regularly reviewed and updated to reflect evolving safety concerns.

We are not trying to be the next social media giant. Narrato exists because we wanted a space for kids to be creative, expressive, and most importantly — safe.
